The Benefit for Children with Special Needs in Delaware
Every child deserves to thrive!
The Benefit for Children with Special Needs in Delaware focuses on supporting those underserved by the medical community.

In 1935 the Grand Chapter began hosting a yearly Summer Benefit Chicken Dinner to raise funds for children in need.
What began as a statewide gathering has since evolved into more intimate dinners held at individual Chapters.
These days, not only do you get to relish those familiar Chicken Dinners, but the fundraisers have grown to include fun events like Luau’s and Halloween parties. You might even find yourself invited to a Magic Show, a Sock Hop, a Holiday Wheelbarrow of Cheer… or even a dinner with the king himself!
Every May, we gather for our Informal Opening to distribute the funds we raised throughout the year. Benefit recipients and their families are often invited to speak, giving us insight into how a selfless act can improve their quality of life. It is always a heartwarming evening filled with many happy tears.Â
In this past decade alone, the Benefit for Children with Special Needs has contributed to everything from therapeutic wheelchair bikes to home lift systems.
Beyond assistance devices, the Grand Chapter is a regular sponsor of camp experiences at Camp New Hope, Camp Lenape, and Children’s Beach House. Not only that, but many children with special needs have been awarded Therapeutic Riding Lessons at Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding.
We have also supported the Delaware Autistic Program, Sussex Consortium, Delaware Statewide Programs for Children with Deaf and Blindness, the Howard T Ennis School, and summer camp opportunities with the Cathedral Choir School.
We humbly thank all our members, our Masonic Brothers, our friends, and members of the public who help and support this wonderful cause.
